Review of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) by Fernando R — 22 Feb 2014
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is generally called the best in the series, and I can see where that's coming from. The story is more matujre than the first two, and brings in some great new characters.
I'd like to note particulary Professor Lupin who's one of my favorite of the Hogwarts professors. Buckbeak is a great character, and is one of the best creatures Rowling has offered us. There are moments that are dark and mysterious, but also nice fun lighthearted moments.
Unfortuantely this is the first movie for Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. He didn't do a bad job, but he never did get up to Harris' level. However I can't judge this particular movie based on that as Dumbledore plays a relatively small role in it, and Gambon doesn't put his dark twist on the character until the end.
If you haven't seen it yet, you must. It's a very good movie, and own of the best in the series.
