Review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) by Pablo E — 04 May 2014

Although some of the special effects (i.e. Neville flying around on the broom and the cave troll) are a bit shonky, the young leads are as cute as three buttons and the classy British cast more than make up for their inexperience.

A wonderfully creepy and magical score by John Williams adds to the atmosphere of danger and excitement and the Quidditch sequences and last act are particularly well-realised and exhilirating and unnerving respectively.
