Review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) by Natalie F — 04 Jan 2013
It's the 14th of November 2001 - many things have happened this day, but two in particular I will never forget. One, I turn 11 and two, Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone is being shown for the first time to the public.
To me, it was a sign: I was going to get my owl. So myself and fellow Harry Potter enthusiasts from my class, went down to the cinema dressed up as witches and wizards and watched one of the best films ever created.
Sure Peeves was missing, and there was not enough trials in the quest to the stone, but that made it better, because this was the first time I knew more about a story than my parents & went on and on and on about it for months.
The film was amazing, and other than feeling incredibly let down that I did not get my owl.. This film is frozen in my memory as the perfect artefact of my childhood. 5 stars, and not even pretending to be unbiased.
