Review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) by Loyal D — 29 Mar 2015
The Sorcerer's Stone is probably the best of this sad line of films, mostly because it plays off the childlike premise quite well and doesn't strive for anything more. Take it as childish fun and you can enjoy this movie for what it is, a family friendly fantasy tale with just enough of a twist to be interesting.
Look to far however, and you will discover a poorly written and constructed world filled with logical implausibilities and the effects budget of a straight to DVD horror film.
