Review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) by Tjw — 10 Jul 2007
The third is still the best in the series, but this definitely gives it a run for the money. definitely the darkest of the series, and book purists will probably be pissed about some stuff that's left out (but what did you expect when you adapt a nearly 900 page book into a 2 1/2 hour movie?) and the movie purists (or whatever you want to call them) will probably be upset at the lack of whimsy or whatever, but I felt that the lack of whimsy was necessary.
as harry gets older the story gets darker, so you shouldn't expect to have as much fun at the films. and the icing on the cake was the elimination of all Quidditch.
