Review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) by Zach L — 16 Mar 2015
Order of the Phoenix becomes more fun than the book with an interesting story and plenty of action. This is a fun movie that has some great character development and some charming and amusing moments. It is fast paced, well written, and smartly directed.
Yates proves he can deliver in the action department, showcasing one of the most memorable movie climaxes I have ever seen. The fifth book was overlong, and despite the good pacing the film maintains, it can't help but feel like it should be a little longer to fully explain everything.
There's also a sense of nothing too new and unique happening, until the explosive and amazing last fourth five minutes. The whole gang is back for yet another exciting adventure in Harry Potter's world.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix gets 4/5 stars (B+).
