Review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) by James D — 10 Oct 2014
This was the longest book in the series, yet ironically it's the shortest film. However, all the essential elements are here, and the newest side character, Dolores Umbridge, is so brilliantly and perfectly played by Imelda Stuanton that it's chilling.
If any Harry Potter performance deserved an Oscar nomination, it was hers. Helena Bonham Carter also makes her marvelous debut here as one of the nastiest female villains ever put on film, Bellatrix Lestrange.
The best thing about this film though is the camaraderie between Harry, Ron, Hermione, and all the students who come to be known as Dumbledore's Army. 10/10.
