Review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) by Diego N — 21 Mar 2013
It has many great moments and it centers around the characters rather than plot, but still provides some great storylines that are relevant through the pensieve. However, it's not as magical as this series used to be.
The cast and JK Rowling's imagination drive the movie. The cinematography is amazing, but it doesn't fit the magic. It makes it too gritty for comfort. The movie also tremendously cuts down the Half-Blood Prince, which makes the final reveal anti-climactic.
They also made the Burrow burn down for no reason and made Harry look like a weak coward. The movie has brilliantly made scenes that stick with you and that is why it's so good, you forget how bad the other parts are.
