Review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) by Scott N — 19 May 2016
I had to see this movie and I'm glad I did. There's so much that is told in this movie that prepares you for the final two that you can't miss it. It lacked some of the intensity of the previous, and it leaves you wanting more. I suppose that is a good thing. The book will fill in some of the gaps and it does better building the trust between Dumbledoor and Harry. I also liked that the teachers are finally beginning to trust Harry and his friends when they tell them of trouble.
The movie may feel somewhat choppy to some, but it had some much to cover and they couldn't leave out some of the more chrming partms of the book dealing with the relationships with Ron and Hermione, and Harry and Ginny.
If you've gone this far in the movie series and still haven't read the books, your missing out on so much more to the story. The movies are great, but you'll never be sorry to have taken the time to read the books. Listen to the audio books if you don't like to read. Your local library may even have them to check out.
