Review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) by Lane Z — 13 Jan 2013
This is probably the best movie up to this point. Emotional and dark. Witty and action packed. Half-Blood Prince brings everything I'd been hoping for together. It's like movie one had one thing but left it out of the second, but movie three lacked what movie two had while bringing back that thing I liked from the first.
Finally, we get a culmination of all the good and little of the bad in the sixth film. With the lack of Voldermort's physical presence and more his henchman, it's a tribute for a setup to see everything clash in the seventh/eighth and final movies.
There are still some plot holes I see here and there that don't make much sense to me in this wizard world and a few acting blemishes, but again, I'll continue to repeat as the characters grow older (and the actors in real life as well) we are treated to more of a fleshed out popcorn flick.
