This is probably my least favourite harry potter film, which is a real shame because the 6th book was my absolute favourite. I feel like more than anything, the problem with this film was that it felt rushed - it was like the thing they HAD to do before they got to do the deathly hallows films (which to be fair, were spectacular).

there wasn't much time put into explaining anything, and a lot of the film's major plot-points were brushed over, to the point that the people who didn't read the books couldn't follow the story.

the film also had a very dull, monochromatic visual style - i'm all for "darker" harry potter films, but just because a film is dark, doesn't mean it can't still be vibrant. also, the romance between harry and ginny, which was the most delicious, wonderful thing about the sixth book was completely destroyed in the film - it was again, brushed over, probably because of daniel radcliffe and bonnie wright's horrible chemistry.

overall, this film was forgettable and didn't do the book justice, which is a shame, because the half-blood prince had the most vibrant, entertaining storyline of all the harry potter books, in my opinion.
