Review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) by Markus M — 10 Sep 2014
The film makes subplots of the book its main focus and in doing so cuts out the vast majority of what was actually essential and interesting about the book, thus making it a lackluster adaptation and the weakest film in the franchise, although it's still a good standalone movie with its saving grace being that despite being a lackluster book adaptation it's still one based on an actually good book with some amazing plot twists, not to mention it harbors great character development for Draco Malfoy which is supported in the film by a great performance from Tom Felton.
