Review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) by Danny O — 14 Aug 2014
Half Blood Prince isn't the best in the series, it still delivers with hilarious humor and cool action. The opening scene immediately immerses you into the story, and what precedes isn't quite as good.
Seeing the relationships furthered between the protagonists is good, but at times becomes a bit repetitive. Unlike the last Potter film, this one's a bit too long, and doesn't take enough of the book's rich material.
The plot twist in the climax is very well done, and the movie even tugs a few heartstrings. This may be the funniest Harry Potter yet, as I laughed numerous times. It's a bit of a placeholder and doesn't have the strongest story, but I enjoyed it.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince gets 4/5 stars (B+).
