Review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) by Monkey P — 12 Jan 2013
It's dark, intense, emotionally resonant, visually stylish, very well acted, sophisticated and oftenly funny as teenage hormones run rampant throughout the halls of Hogwarts school. It leaves audiences with one last glimpse of youthful, spirited, light comedic fun as well as settting the tone for the dark and dangerous final chapters.
It's also probably the only Harry Potter film, like The Order of the Phoenix, that takes away "A LOT" from the book. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just a little disappointing for the die-hard fans.
5/5 stars.
