Review of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) by Wesley L — 14 Dec 2013
Whilst In Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban took a huge dramatic high step, Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire took an even higher step making the film taking it's first dark turn. The story is about Harry and his friends who are back to school but they have new expectations because every four years, Hogwarts has a tournament choosing one of their students and challenging him or her along with two students from one separate school each who all should be 17 or above and they must face three extremely dangerous tasks known as the Triwizard Tournament.
After the three wizards are chosen, when Harry's name arrives out of the goblet, everyone turns on him as if he's a cheat and also he's not even 17 yet but since there is no other choice, Harry as a fourth champion must compete in the Triwizard Tournament.
Worse than that, there is terror waiting for him at the very end of the third task. I guess the critics liked this movie the second least after because Mike Newell took helm of the franchise, this movie is much more grittier than the future Harry Potter movies, even more than Deathly Hallows Part 2 says something and who can forget the time when this movie introduced us to the most famous Twilight reject, Robert Pattinson as Cedric Diggory? Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire gets a weak 10/10.
