Review of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) by Samruti P — 31 Dec 2014
The fourth entry of the series is one adventurous ride loaded with awesome special effects. However, obvious change of spectacle is inevitable as yet another switch of director had warranted a tonal shift - a reversion of Cuaron's darker vision to Mike Newell's much lighter shades.
As the pace is moderately kept in check, the whole 'video-game'-like environment involving the protagonist surviving through obstacle courses had added much higher entertainment value with plenty of spaces for stylized special effects here and there.
Nevertheless, such thematic material had indeed made the film more action-oriented than its predecessors.
