Growing up with Harry and his friends, its hard not to get attached to the characters. Having said that the movie was a disappointment. Yes, the movie looked great; yes, the movie was a good end for the series but there was something missing, the element of epic-ness.
Unlike Lord of the Rings or the original Star Wars films, Harry Potter lacked the wow factor that brought the other films to another level. However, I didn't come out of the movie hating it nor did I come out loving it.
