Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011) by Jared B — 25 Jan 2014
Was there any doubt that this would be the movie to beat this summer? It shattered records for it's midnight showings, first day showings, and three week openings and it was rightly deserved. Ten years led up to this film and I was not disappointed.
I really can't think of any other movies that are better adaptations of novels to films that have been more successful than this franchise, although The Lord of the Rings films are also very amazing adaptations but I haven't read those novels so I can't fully judge how well they were adapted.
It's sad that the franchise had to end but it was unavoidable. Granted, the books ended in 2007 and it was more emotional when they came to end but it almost feels like the movies created there own identity over the years.
I look forward to completing my Blu-Ray set later this year.
