Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011) by Hidde H — 28 Feb 2015
Well, here it is, the final chapter to the franchise. Ever since I watched it for the first time, it had been my favorite Harry Potter movie, and also one of the best movies I have ever seen. So from watching the series again for nostalgic and review reasons, did they saved the best for last? The answer for me is, yes, they still did.
Every actor has brought their A game in this movie, including Alan Rickman who can actually be really good at being emotional which might get the viewers to cry. It's really emotionally resonant that I was close to crying, and the soundtrack by Alexander Desplat is magical and just amazing.
The special effects are are definitely extravaganza, and it just looks amazing. The action scenes are amazing and exciting, but never seem to take away from the plot either. Steve Kloves did a great job with the script and develop the emotional scenes very effectively.
The camerawork is amazing, and there's a bit of differences between the book and the movie that I actually thought that the movie did better. The plot is really good, and it explained everything that's relevant to the movie while having a lot of funny moments.
The movie does the Snape backstory very respectively which everybody, including me, were relieved that they did it well. The series is the best I ever seen, and nothing can top it. When it ends, I felt very satisfied with it and in a way, it grows me up like the movies do, and got me into any movie.
Like any other people who are fans of the series, it was very hard for us to see it end, but the series would stay with us forever.
