Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011) by David O — 12 Sep 2018
The Deathly Hallows Part 2 gives fans of the books and films along with casual viewers everything they want. Thrilling action, great character moments, big amounts of magic on display and a satisfying conclusion to a story that has unravelled for over a decade.
The visual effects work really does a lot to make this the spectacle that it is, while the continued set designs and costumes make it all the more real. Alexandre Desplat brings a fantastic soundtrack, with dark and uplifting music all on display.
Yates and the editing team use Desplat's music well while also adding in the classic John Williams soundtrack at just the right times. With all the actors on clearly giving their best, knowing its the end, this almost perfectly wraps up this 8 part film series.
