Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010) by Cezary P — 22 Jan 2013
As per usual, I haven't read the book, but I have seen the six films before it. There's no doubt about it, this is the end. Storylines finally come to a close, death is overwhelming, everything's been building to this.
The film's tighter than usual, has more action, has countless callbacks and cast returns. Emotions are heated and racked in all the right ways. As the end of a franchise it's done with precision and elegance.
As a movie, it's pretty darn exciting and engaging. Of course, this is only the first half of the movie. I couldn't be happier with the cliffhanger - better ending than "Inception"!
