Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010) by Amber H — 17 May 2013
I loved it. Every minute of it. Yes the pacing was a little weird at times and because the story was split in two there wasn't much resolution but I love that it gave the Potter series a completely different feel.
The wizarding world is no longer safe and Harry, Ron and Hermione are forced to fend for themselves and you really feel that dread and vulnerability right from the start. Also kudos to Dan, Rupert and Emma (who are better than ever) for fantastically conveying the trio's isolation from the rest of the world.
It's probably a darker movie than the last 4 combined but there are still some very funny and very sweet scenes in it. Loved the acting, writing, directing, special effects, everything but yes we will have to wait until Part 2 to really see the payoff of the story.
It would have been nice if they released the two movies much closer together but regardless people are still going to see it and love it. This movie is definitely my favorite of the series so far.
