Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010) by Marie Y — 29 Dec 2013
Still a little disenchanted after the fifth and sixth movies, I felt better walking out of the theater after this movie. I especially loved the animation for the Tale of the Three Brothers. There were still details that didn't sit well with me, though.
The first that comes to mind is Hermione's use of "Obliviate" in the film to erase her parents' memories; this spell would have been irreversible, while in the book she used a temporary spell to modify their memories so that she'd be able to fix it after the war.
It's just a detail, yeah, but these sorts of things grate on my nerves.
