Chamber of Secrets is a triumphant adaptation that retains a lot of the pleasantries of Columbus' Philosopher's Stone, while dealing a surprising amount of darkness, in turn creating a blend that's neither too cold or too warm to the viewer.

The acting from the kids hasn't improved a great deal, but they still incur great likeability with lots of promise. A particular example of terrific supporter acting comes from Branagh and Harris, who steal almost every scene they're in.

Mystery, action and above all else - magic, are happily prevalent in this most extensive of all the films.
