Review of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) by Lane Z — 05 Jan 2013
While Chamber of Secrets is certainly a step in the right direction following the Sorcerer's Stone, the style and cinematography - besides the "darker" portions - feel very similar to its predecessor, thankfully something that Prisoner of Azkaban corrects.
I must say, though, it's great to see the main trio getting more used to their roles, and the mysterious Basilisk adds quite a bit of tension to the overall movie experience - something that really helps Chamber of Secrets in the end.
It doesn't quite have the classic feel of Sorcerer's Stone, but it's a worthy sequel that truly improves and expands on its predecessor.
