Review of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) by Sanchayan S — 05 Jan 2014
Being the second movie of the franchise , Harry Potter and the chamber of Secrets brings back the rich world of the wizarding world of Rowling into action . With excellent direction by Chris Columbus who is turning out to be quite a fantasy director , the movie brings new themes from Sir John Williams which emotionally ties the movie in much better way than its predecessors.
The visuals are amazing from The Burrow to Hogwarts , the quidditch and the chamber itself. The return of our protagonist this time around is more exciting than the last time . However a dark plot awaits this time and Harry , along with his pals Hermione and Ron must unravel the mystery and overcome the disaster that might befall them .
The cast plays out beautifully : Richard Harris , Tom Felton , Maggie Smith and the rest brings back Hogwarts to life. Much more emotional storyline this time around the movie is more compelling . However this movie suffers from creature design problems with could have been improved in a much better way .
However that does not take anything way from it as this serves an excellent return to the joyous journey which has been set up an year ago.
