Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Allen R — 20 Oct 2010
Dark, brutal, intense & electrifying. All words that describe both the film HARRY BROWN & Michael Caine's portrayal of the titular character. What may, on the surface, be perceived as "Death Wish in London" is a near perfect revenge story.
I believe that Caine puts in one of his greatest performances to date in this film. HARRY BROWN isn't just another revenge film, not that there's anything wrong with, but it presents the dark underbelly of city life in a gritty & realistic fashion.
From the opening scene through the end I was totally captivated by this slow-burn revenge thriller. Wonderful film! Highly recommended.
