Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Kenny K — 26 Oct 2010
Michael Caine is one of the absolute best actors of all time. He is completely mastered in the art of realistic subtlety. This is a brilliant movie, and does not reach too far outside of the range of a realistic situation (so don't be fooled by the poster, this movie isn't about a sad little old man who is wronged and all of a sudden becomes this ass-kicking action hero.
You can almost feel his pain and desperation and can still see his vulnerability when he is fighting back against the gang that killed his best friend). It is also very well cast.
