Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Nyk P — 20 Nov 2010
Michael Caine turns in a decent performance as a pissed-off elder man with nothing to lose. The film doesn't over-play his decorated past... Harry still move like an older man, just a bit better with guns, which is rather convincing. In the back of my mind the moral issue kind of lingers throughout the film, but the film doesn't really care too much about the gray area. I am okay for letting that slide in this case.
Quite well shot, but I feel like they toned down the contrast in many shots in deep shadow to show Harry's face, which is rather unnatural.
Harry Brown makes a decent friday night movie.
