Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Steve S — 19 May 2011
While very gritty and an unremittingly depressing commentary on the underbelly of British society, Harry Brown is a fairly good, if not stellar movie. Michael Caine's performance packs a tremendous emotional punch, and it's utterly authentic.
Indeed, his performance is so good that it saves the entire movie from collapsing under the weight of its weaknesses, and somewhat clichéd delivery.
