Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Michael V — 16 Nov 2011
You've failed to maintain your weapon, son. What a fantastic line. The first 5 minutes really sets the bar high as to the discomfort and intense moments that'll follow ahead. And it doesn't lose pacing from then on.
It holds itself together like a well oiled machine throughout the entire movie. And the music helps putting you in an uneasy state like nails on a chalk board. Love it. Now, I've never been to Britian so I really can't say if this accurately shows it.
But real or not it is a very believeable setting. Especially after walking through some of the neighborhoods in Milwaukee. Michael Caine yet again delievers with excellence you've come to expect from him.
The man is like wine. He is better now then he was back in the Get Carter Italian Job days. Not he was lacking then. And everybody else surrounding him and supporting him. Kudos to all of them. But if you are walking into this expecting a revenge flick.
You get that but thats not all. It's also quite the social commentary and human's moving more to an animalistic stage. My one major grip with this like a lot of movies these days. STOP WITH THE CGI BLOOD!!!!!!
