Review of Harold and Maude (1971) by Mandy W — 29 Dec 2008
HEY EMOS...MAUDE IS A GOOD ROLE MODEL FOR YOU!!!
I absolutely loved Ruth Gordon in this. Her character Maude was one of her best roles I have to say. She doesn't care about rules or regulations in society. Stealing cars and driving like a maniac. Living in an old tram carriage. Posing nude for an ice sculptor. Why can't there be more people like Maude out there? I'll be like Maude when I'm 80 ;-).
About Harold, if I had a pretentious mother like his I'd be pretending to commit suicide acts too. Well Maude brought out the best in him. I'll always wonder whether he took off on the road. We'll never know.
