Review of Harold and Maude (1971) by Katie F — 13 Jun 2009
One of the best black comedies to ever grace the silver screen. And it seems that with every viewing of the film, the message becomes deeper. At first glance, it is the story of a depressed young man who finds love with a spunky, elderly woman.
By the second viewing, it is a look at how our society views relationships. By the third, it is a lesson in personal philosophies. This is a great film because there are numerous layers to it, and anyone who watches it will find some reason to laugh, cry or think.
