A great movie to watch....with an open mind, with an open heart. It is not a love story, I see it that way, but a lesson about living and loving life. Maude, an holocaust survivor who lives and loves life to the maximum, teaches to a very well off Harold, a lesson about life, love and death. (Harold lacks her mother's attention and he fakes his death as many times to get the attention he needs from her, to no avail).

Harold and Maude, a relationship is born, not out of the character's ages, but out of their respective experiences . What grosses out many viewers, ( the relationship itself, and the bed scene), it has more to it than just that.. to me, it is a communion of two soul mates, reunited in the midst of a chaos.

About the soundtrack. Cat Stevens provides with his score a freshness that remains to this days " If you want to sing, sing out" and "where do the children play", are two fabulous songs!
