Review of Harold and Maude (1971) by Bill M — 24 Mar 2015
Rough around the edged and often close to cloying 70's classic Harold And Maude is still lovely, weird and one of the few films to merit the cliched tag of "life affirming". The story of a death obsessed, fake suicide staging, depressed young man and a fun loving old woman with an impulsive and positive outlook on the world and their blossoming friendship.
It's a sometimes darkly comical and yet very gentle, very warm film.
