Its not one of Eddie Murphy's best movies, and as far as directorial debut goes this one is fine not great. Honestly Richard Pryor, Red Foxx, and Eddie Murphy are some of the funniest comics of our time and the idea of them mis-mashed together in a movie sounds pretty awesome too me.
A movie with the most swears out of any Eddie murphy, still a entertaining movie. The biggest price of admission is seeing two titans appear together on the screen.
