Review of Harlem Nights (1989) by Abel D — 13 Mar 2013
It may not be as great as its powerhouse cast suggests, but Harlem Nights does have clear effort put in it, thanks in part to its lavish production values, jazzy score and moments of hilarity courtesy of a still young & game Murphy as well as veterans Pryor and Foxx, who make the sometimes overly vulgar and self-indulgent dialogue not as painful or grating as it could be.
Though still expect a lot of gags to have F & N-Bombs.
