Review of Harlem Nights (1989) by Benson S — 05 Jun 2007
What more can I say "HARLEM" Eddie understood the importance of given back, at a point in his career when he could made more money doing a mainstream film, he put much need dollars in the pockets of, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Della Reese, and many other black actors who did the same things he done, but couldn't enjoy the same pay, because of race issue in America, the same way Shaq, Ewing, Hakeem, David, and other big men, gave back to Bill Russell when Bill was broke.
..Bill won 11 NBA tittles in Boston, and couldnt eat in resturants across the street from the Boston Garden...thats what Richard and Redd mean to Eddie...i.e dreamgirls...eddies always good in the hood no matter what kind of movies he does because of this.
