Review of Hardcore Henry (2015) by Stephen K — 08 Apr 2016
Great rarely used concept for a movie (1-person shooter aspect), but *eventually* the chaos and carnage that Henry causes tires the viewer out; and by the last 20 mins of the movie, it begins to get a bit tiresome.
Interesting uniqueness to the "bad guy"...I won't directly spoiler it, but you might have seen it in a bad guy from another recent movie around Christmas 2015 ;)...Sharlto Copley [District 9] is a true joy to behold in this as the main supporting character and even gets to show some comedic chops.
..possibly best viewed somewhat tipsy (and losing some rational inhibitions), but probably not the kind of film you need to see a 2nd time soon after for detail catching. Definitely NOT for non-action movie fans or people looking for deep, philosophical meaning.
It's got elements from SW:TFA, The Matrix trilogy -- and Crank (Jason Statham). Serious Crank.
