I'm not sure this film shows whether the gimmick can work as it plays out like a video game with no rules, no story, and a "never die" cheat code.
Seriously, the villain has X-Men like powers and seems to be upset because he's a poor man's Jared Leto.
I'll just play a video game next time I want this experience.
