Review of Hardcore Henry (2015) by Atheer O — 03 Jun 2016
Much like Pandemic, the POV viewpoint is a far better option than the likes of Cloverfield. The first two films I've seen do work but some of the key ingredients are missing. Firstly characters aren't the camera, filmmakers forget this and substitute this for action.
The story is an utter mess, it never comes together and the film struggles most of the duration. The best part of this film is the action scenes, I've never seen action scenes so relentless since The Raid.
The best shots are in the trailer so you'll soon learn this film isn't going any place new. The gore is turned to 11, the highway chase scene is epic and deserves to be in a better film Worth checking out but also worth waiting for a filmmaker to come along and exploit this gimmick film style much in the way The Blair Witch Project did back in the 90s.
