Review of Hardcore Henry (2015) by Movie M — 24 Aug 2016

The main issue I have with "Hardcore Henry" is the fact that the first person shooting gets really confusing to follow, especially during the action sequences. Whereas a regular shot would capture the action sequence completely, this movie uses first person, and when Henry moves around in combat, the camera gets really shaky, and for people with weak stomachs, that can get very nauseating.

I didn't find the plot particularly interesting at all, the characters have very little depth to them as most of the movie was just Henry shooting people and throwing grenades in first person. It's basically like playing "Call of Duty" with that annoying friend that hogs the controller and you never get to play.

Although some of the action sequences were very cool to see through this unique style of first-person, the dry plot and empty characters kept me from having a good, enjoyable experience. "Hardcore Henry" is worth watching, but only if you're bored.
