Review of Hardcore Henry (2015) by Irene C — 12 Apr 2016
The action is so much fun. The adrenaline levels of this movie were off the charts. With the exception of a couple shaky scenes and some odd cuts, I understood what was going on. You never really felt confused by the staging of the action scenes.
The story was fun too. Jimmie was a pretty funny and well written addition to the cast of Hardcore Henry and the new spin on this character was perfectly hidden in all the trailers so it was a refreshing surprise when the twist was revealed about his origin.
The story was a good story by video game standards. Keep in mind that this film is written with visuals and action scenes coming first. Basically it is a video game. If you do not like video games, the story and action might annoy you.
So if you do even the smallest amount of research before seeing this flick, you will enjoy the heck out of it.
