Review of Hard to Kill (1990) by Randall H — 11 Jun 2007
This is what we call "dynasty Seagal." Probably not the best movie in the world (for obvious reasons), but still highly enjoyable in the sense that it is basically ninety minutes of brutal beatdowns, terrible one liners and sexy girls.
Oh, and the buddhist-healing montage. The thing is, movies are so crappy now, what with all the computer effects and everything, it seems as though we might has passed the point of irony with these ones, and they might actually be pretty sweet compared to whatever the hell people are into these days.
This is an action movie. Bronson passed the torch to Seagal after Death Wish IV, and Steven never looked back. Oh, and pretty much all of the classic Seagal films have graphic arm breakings, too, so bonus, no?
