Review of Hard Target (1993) by Alister N — 28 Mar 2008
It's befitting that Woo's credit is screened alongside a corpse sinking into water as this is the beginning of his descent as a world-class action director, coming from the bullet ballet par excellence Hard Boiled, Van Damme is a far less intriguing hero and the American setting is a recreation of 80's no-brainer action as opposed to the progressive melodrama Woo had pioneered.
