The plot, characters, and acting (except for Lance Henrikson) all sucked, which doubly sucked because the movie took a very long time to drop them and move on to more important things (like explosions), but once that happened, "Hard Target" stopped sucking and started kicking serious ass.
Well, mostly: sometimes it takes itself a little too seriously (John Woo puts doves in every action scene, even though doves usually don't build nests in abandoned factories on the outskirts of New Orleans).
