Awesome action directing courtesy of John Woo. Silly flick, sure, the movie is below average in terms of plot and acting. This is an action movie and in comparison to other action movies, it is sweeeet stuff, the likes of which you don't get to see anymore.
John Woo is the god of action. Though it's no The Killer or Hard Boiled, it's a great practice piece for his Hollywood movies, which I don't think hardly outdo this one either. This is pretty good.
Might even be Van Damme's 4th best movie behind Timecop, Universal Soldier, and The Quest.
