Woo's first american film and while he goes on to work with much bigger and (ostensibly) better talent than what's here, hard target isn't any better or worse than woo's other american actioners: face/off and broken arrow.
and honestly, ht is probably better, if only because here we get to see: 1. lance henriksen at his bad ass best, 2. wilford brimley shooting arrows and riding a horse in slo-mo, and 3. van-damme in a mullet.
