Review of Hard Eight (1997) by Joe M — 11 Dec 2007
A wonderfully ambitious debut from my favorite director. It's got all of his staple elements, only they're not as refined as they would be in the later films. Really, though, the my only problem with it is Samuel L.
Jackson, who seems to fall too often into his own cliche's. Still, it has some scenes that are simply fabulous, and it's not one to miss.
