Review of Hard Eight (1997) by Sam A — 17 Aug 2008
A terribly awesome debut film by one of the best writer/directors ever, Paul Thomas Anderson. Awesome performances by Philip Baker Hall, who's never been cooler, and John C. Reily, who's never so prostitute-dating. Paul Thomas Anderson's camera work never dulls, the way he views his movies are the way God must view us.
It's very impressive to me to think that Paul Thomas Anderson's worst film, his debut film, is better than most filmmaker's best film.
